The Australian Kelpie

The Australian kelpie is a medium size dog breed that excels as independent herders. Kelpies are a very high energy breed that requires lots of exercise along with the mental stimulation of a job. We use our kelpies on multiple different types of stock including cattle, goats and sheep.Grassroots Ranger was our very first kelpie and we obtained him in 2018 shortly after we added Watkinson Rita in 2020 and Hornbrook kelpies was born. Rita and Ranger have pups in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan! The pair have proven to produce versatile ranch, family and trial dogs. We have retained Hornbrook MiMi (January 2024 litter) with the intentions of continuing the breeding program.

Current News :

No current kelpie litter plans as we wait for Hornbrook MiMi to mature and search for a stud dog!
